Hello!
The Windrose is a Canadian permaculture and garden design business offering solutions for growing food, caring for the soil, and increasing self-sufficiency at home. Our focus is mixing edibles and ornamentals, creating functional residential or rural landscapes and promoting diversity in every aspect. Regardless of where you live, we design solutions that give a garden structure, style, and productivity.
My Story
Hello! My name is Pedro. I’m a Brazilian graphic and permaculture designer based in Toronto. I am moving back to the midtown area after a couple of years travelling and working with the land in Northern Ontario, British Columbia, and, most recently, a 6-month stop in Brazil.
I am lucky enough to have homesteading and farming blood running in my veins. From my great-grandparents to my father, uncle, siblings, and myself, we treasure animal husbandry, agriculture, self-sufficiency, and the simplest of lives. My journey with permaculture has been a spiritual and professional one. Design is the tool I use to navigate the world, and the connection with plants and nature inspires me every day. Building regenerative systems and understanding the relationships between natural elements is a grounding practice.
I love talking about plants, interacting with nature, practicing stillness, and climbing higher grounds wherever I go. Respect, appreciation, and empathy are always on the table, followed by a warm cup of coffee.
One day, the journey shall lead me back to the mountains and waterfalls of the Serra da Canastra region of my home state, Minas Gerais. In the meantime, you will find me living life to the fullest with my sidekick Dakota 🐶 and growing healthy food somewhere.
